Description For DevSecOps Engineer

As a DevSecOps Engineer at Via, you will be a key member of the team, responsible for security infrastructure, automation, and streamlining secure pipelines within Via's cloud environment.

You'll be defining and implementing cloud security infrastructure solutions, collaborating with other engineering teams, setting up log management systems, operating SecOps infrastructure, and playing a key role in evaluating and maintaining security products. You'll also be promoting a strong security culture and driving the implementation of countermeasures and mitigations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, with at least 2 years of experience as a security engineer. Proficiency in Python, experience with SIEM/Log management, and familiarity with public cloud platforms (especially AWS) are key requirements. You should be a team player with strong self-management skills and the ability to quickly learn new security technologies.

Responsibilities For DevSecOps Engineer

  • Define and implement cloud security infrastructure solutions using industry-leading tools
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to create, implement, and manage security products and infrastructure
  • Set up and customize log management, orchestration, and response systems
  • Operate and manage SecOps infrastructure and automation
  • Evaluate, maintain, and tune security products
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for security operation automation workflows
  • Continuously improve SecOps capabilities and lead new innovations
  • Promote a strong security culture driving security awareness and best practices
  • Drive the implementation of countermeasures, mitigations, and containment strategies

Requirements For DevSecOps Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a security engineer or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with SIEM/Log management engineering
  • Experience with scripting and automation of SOAR/No code automation playbooks (advantage)
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt new security technologies and tools
  • Strong self-management, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  • Familiar with public cloud platforms and SaaS security solutions (experience with AWS is an advantage)
  • Independent, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of tasks
