This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing on test automation and quality assurance for their innovative payment solutions platform.
The ideal candidate will lead a team of Software Engineers in Test, overseeing the design and implementation of test automation frameworks that ensure high-quality software delivery. With presence in 24 European markets and an ECB approved banking license, Viva.com's technology stack is built on MS Azure, supporting various payment solutions including Tap on Any Device technology and Smart Checkout payment gateway.
As a Lead SET, you'll be responsible for developing test strategies, managing automated testing frameworks, and ensuring seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines. The role requires strong technical skills in Java, test automation tools, and API testing, combined with leadership abilities to mentor team members and drive quality initiatives.

Responsibilities For Lead Software Engineer in Test
- Lead and mentor a team of SETs, providing technical guidance, support and performance feedback
- Manage the day-to-day activities and workload of the test team
- Develop and implement test strategies for new features, releases and products
- Oversee the design and maintenance of automated test frameworks
- Develop and maintain reusable test scripts, libraries and utilities
- Ensure automation solutions integrate with CI/CD pipelines
- Create detailed test plans and test cases for automated tests
- Monitor automated test execution and analyze results
- Establish and track key performance metrics
- Identify opportunities for test automation and process improvements
Requirements For Lead Software Engineer in Test
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in software development, test automation or software quality engineering
- Solid understanding of software development, QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (Java is preferred)
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Appium, Maven, Gradle, Cucumber, Rest API)
- Experience integrating automated testing solutions with CI/CD pipelines
- Expertise in API testing tools and RESTful services
- Familiarity with SQL queries
- Knowledge of performance testing tools
- Understanding of cloud platforms and containerization technologies
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
