Description For IT Support Engineer

Vortexa, a tech scale-up, is seeking its first IT Support Engineer to join the IT Team. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated and enjoy a hands-on approach with operational and technical aspects of IT. Key responsibilities include leading IT onboarding for new joiners and providing 1st line support for a global team.

The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and extensive knowledge in supporting devices/endpoints (MacOS & Windows). Experience with helpdesk software like Jira Service Management, Google Workspace, and Office365 is essential. The candidate will handle onboarding/offboarding processes, maintain asset registers, diagnose hardware issues, and work independently and with team members to deliver project goals.

Additional desirable skills include experience with migrating from Google Workspace to Office365, supporting AV setups (Microsoft Teams & Logitech Rally), using Microsoft Intune, and working in organizations with large software engineering teams.

Responsibilities For IT Support Engineer

  • Lead IT onboarding for new joiners
  • Provide 1st line support for a global team
  • Work with the IT Manager and senior management team to deliver projects, upgrades, and required changes
  • Maintain and update software and hardware asset registers
  • Diagnose hardware issues and liaise with vendors for repairs and replacements
  • Monitor and report on progress against agreed objectives

Requirements For IT Support Engineer

Linux
  • Delivery orientated and self-motivated, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to build relationships and communicate well at all levels of an organisation
  • Extensive knowledge in supporting device/endpoints, (MacOS & Windows)
  • Experienced with using helpdesk software such as Jira Service Management
  • Comfortable supporting Google Workspace & Office365 related issues
  • Able to handle the responsibilities of onboarding new joiners and offboarding leavers
  • Able to maintain and update software and hardware asset registers
  • Confident in diagnosing hardware issues and liaising with vendors for repairs and replacements
  • Happy to work independently and with team members to deliver project goals
  • Experienced in managing 3rd party suppliers and vendors
  • Experienced in monitoring and reporting on progress against agreed objectives
