Vortexa was founded to solve the immense information gap in the energy industry. Using satellite data and AI, they provide real-time insights on global seaborne energy flows. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you'll join the Data Services Team, responsible for the developer platform and AWS infrastructure. You'll work on infrastructure availability, security, costs, and developer experience, using technologies like Kubernetes, Kubevela, Golang, Kafka, Opensearch, Airflow, and Athena. Key responsibilities include assessing technologies, delivering optimal engineering experiences, standardizing tech stacks, ensuring 100% uptime, optimizing AWS costs, and providing excellent developer tooling. You'll be instrumental in codifying operational knowledge and automating processes to allow R&D to focus on creating customer value. The role requires expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Terraform, and Go, with a focus on cloud-native application design and deployment. You'll be part of a globally distributed team, tackling challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values creative thinking and getting things done.

- Assess current technologies
- Deliver the best possible engineering experience with the shortest development iterations
- Help crystallise, converge and standardise technology stacks

Requirements For Senior Site Reliability Engineer
- Determined to create infrastructure that gets out of the way with a great developer experience
- Excellent at troubleshooting unfamiliar code
- Striving to be more skilled than Google with Kubernetes
- An AWS power user and evangelist
- Familiar with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams – deployment, monitoring, resiliency, fault-tolerance, cluster planning and operations, applications debugging
- Experienced with ElasticSearch operations and usage
- Fluent in Terraform, and Go
- Familiar with cloud-native application design and deployment
- Not afraid of challenges and infrastructure troubleshooting
- A 'can-do' person – 'I've done my bit' has no place at Vortexa
