This role is crucial in maintaining and securing the infrastructure that supports millions of active users and petabytes of user-generated content. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring high reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness of VRChat's infrastructure. The role involves incident management, security implementation, infrastructure design in hybrid cloud environments, and automation of monitoring systems.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of DevOps experience, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment. Technical expertise should include hybrid cloud environments, infrastructure as code, networking tools, content delivery, and database operations. Security expertise is essential, including experience with various frameworks and certifications like MITRE ATT&CK, ISO27001, and SOC2.

Responsibilities For DevSecOps Engineer
- Day to day operation and maintenance of infrastructure for high reliability, security and cost effectiveness
- Incident management and root cause analysis, including off-hours support
- Implement and maintain robust security controls and practices
- Design and implement IT infrastructure in hybrid cloud environment
- Automate and improve monitoring systems and tools
- Coordinate and communicate with team and internal stakeholders
- Work with external vendors for issue resolution and project coordination
Requirements For DevSecOps Engineer
- 8+ years experience in DevOps role within high-growth consumer-facing company
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and infrastructure as code tools
- Experience with networking tools like Wireguard and Tailscale
- Experience with content delivery & CDNs
- Knowledge of MongoDB & Redis configuration and operation
- Experience in system hardening and security audits
- Strong knowledge of web application and API security
- Experience with Node.js & Golang
- Knowledge of security frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, COBIT, and ITIL
- Knowledge of ISO27001/27002, SOC2, IG2 certifications
- Exceptional communication skills
