Senior / Staff Perception Engineer

As a Senior Perception Engineer, you'll work on cutting-edge perception algorithms for self-driving vehicles, collaborating with world-renowned scientists and engineers. You'll prototype, evaluate, and iterate on 3D detection, tracking, and semantic understanding of traffic scenes. The role involves working with large datasets, including Waabi World simulator, and staying updated with the latest AI and computer vision advancements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and improving perception algorithms for accuracy, robustness, and safety
• Proposing solutions based on research insights in deep learning and computer vision
• Productizing and deploying algorithms to self-driving vehicles
• Ensuring high-quality, well-structured code
• Collaborating on multidisciplinary problems in perception, motion forecasting, and planning
• Contributing to research publications and Waabi's blog

Qualifications:

• MS/PhD or Bachelor's with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related fields
• Experience in applied research, especially in 3D detection and tracking
• Strong Python programming skills and understanding of computing fundamentals
• Familiarity with large datasets and machine learning applications
• Knowledge of current trends in machine learning and computer vision
