Wade Trim, a century-old engineering firm specializing in infrastructure investments, is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to join their team in New York City. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects while working for a 100% employee-owned company.

As a Resident Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day construction oversight of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a New York PE license, and at least 10 years of relevant experience. Your responsibilities will span from managing inspection staff and ensuring compliance with specifications to leading project meetings and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in water/wastewater projects, demonstrated experience with New York Department of Environment and/or Department of Design and Construction, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities For Resident Engineer

  • Provide and manage day-to-day construction oversight/Resident Engineering efforts
  • Manage CM inspection staff and delivery of daily inspection reports
  • Review construction work progress daily
  • Manage office staff responsible for record keeping and reports
  • Manage the Contractor payment process
  • Responsible for overall site safety and permit condition compliance
  • Lead progress meetings and construction progress meetings
  • Monitor Contractor performance and schedule
  • Generate project correspondence
  • Act as liaison to design staff
  • Collaborate with client, contractors, design engineers, and stakeholders
  • Mentor and supervise less experienced staff
  • Review design and bidding documents
  • Support the growth of Construction Management services
  • Lead development of construction management pursuits and proposals
  • Maintain a safe work environment

Requirements For Resident Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering license in the state of New York
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater heavy civil projects
  • Experience with New York Department of Environment and/or Department of Design and Construction (DDC) preferred
  • Working experience with Primavera P6 scheduling and Sage cost estimating software
  • Working knowledge of Construction PMIS platform (e-Builder or equivalent)
  • Working experience with NYC Agencies SOPs for construction projects including NYCDEP SOPs
  • Working experience on NYCDEP projects related to pump stations, treatment plants
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication skills
