Description For Restoration Consultant

Walker Consultants is seeking a Restoration Consultant to join their team in Chicago, IL. This role involves researching, analyzing, and solving structural deficiencies in various types of buildings and structures. The ideal candidate will have strong restoration experience, superior problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex projects simultaneously.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing investigations, surveys, and testing of existing buildings
  • Analyzing plans, specifications, and calculations
  • Monitoring project progress and adhering to budget and procedural standards
  • Developing repair schemes and recommendations
  • Coordinating with engineers and technical personnel
  • Marketing and promoting restoration and forensic engineering consulting services

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Architecture (Master's preferred)
  • Registered professional engineer or ability to obtain a professional license
  • 5+ years of experience in forensics, restoration, and/or building envelope fields
  • Willingness to travel within the Chicago area, with occasional regional travel

Responsibilities For Restoration Consultant

  • Perform investigations, surveys, and testing of existing buildings
  • Critically analyze plans, specifications, and calculations
  • Monitor project progress and adhere to budget and procedural standards
  • Perform or review condition appraisals
  • Develop repair schemes and recommendations
  • Complete and maintain project documentation
  • Coordinate engineers and technical personnel
  • Maintain, market, and promote restoration and forensic engineering consulting services
  • Assist and train less experienced staff

Requirements For Restoration Consultant

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Architecture
  • Registered professional engineer or ability to obtain a professional license
  • 5+ years of experience in forensics, restoration, and/or building envelope fields
  • Willingness to travel within the Chicago area, with occasional regional travel
  • Strong restoration experience
