Responsibilities For (USA) Principal, Data Engineer
- Architect, design, and implement high-performance data pipelines and ETL processes
- Develop and maintain data infrastructure and platforms
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements
- Champion data quality, governance, and best practices
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers
- Create vision statement for large Data lake
- Contribute to data strategy and roadmap
- Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies
Requirements For (USA) Principal, Data Engineer
- Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science or related field
- 10+ years experience in data engineering
- Experience with data governance and data privacy best practices
- Expertise in big data technologies (Hadoop, Apache Spark, Python, Hive)
- Expertise in building idempotent workflows using Airflow
- Strong SQL skills, preferably in BigQuery or SPARK SQL
- Strong data modeling skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
