Walmart, a global retail leader with over 2.2 million associates, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their People.AI team. This role is based in Bentonville, AR, and offers a competitive salary range of $110,000-$220,000 plus additional benefits and bonuses.

The position focuses on driving observability, automation, and scalability for conversational Enterprise Knowledge Q&A and self-service action experiences. As part of the People.AI team, you'll work on cutting-edge Generative AI solutions that enhance productivity and foster a culture of belonging for Walmart associates globally.

The team has already developed impressive solutions including a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based knowledge Q&A system, next-generation agentic system for HR transactions, and text-to-SQL analytics capabilities. You'll be instrumental in expanding these capabilities while ensuring system transparency and streamlining processes.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with software engineers on innovative solutions, developing scalable experiences using GenAI technology, partnering with business leaders, and implementing robust MLOps practices. The role requires expertise in Python, cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, Kafka, and SQL, along with strong architectural design experience.
