Description For Production Support Engineer

At Warner Music Group (WMG), we're seeking a Production Support Engineer to join our Technology organization. This role combines site reliability engineering (SRE), operations support, and application development. You'll be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting key technical systems within WMG.

As a Production Support Engineer, you will:

  • Write clean, maintainable code in Java, Python, or TypeScript
  • Monitor production systems and improve automated monitoring capabilities
  • Own root cause analysis of outages and implement fixes
  • Debug and resolve system errors
  • Work closely with business/operations users to troubleshoot issues
  • Execute and automate manual workflows
  • Improve CICD processes and infrastructure-as-code
  • Enhance the team's knowledge base by writing playbooks and technical deep dives
  • Be on-call for high-priority production incidents

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-6 years of experience in DevOps, Production Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
  • Experience with legacy code (e.g., Java 11)
  • Skills in configuring and maintaining public cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS)
  • Knowledge of relational databases like Oracle or PostgreSQL
  • Ability to troubleshoot user-facing issues
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Accountability for resolving issues within SLA timeframes
  • Capability to work effectively in a distributed team environment
