Wasmer is pioneering the next generation of Cloud and Edge Computing platforms using WebAssembly. Similar to how Node.js enabled server-side JavaScript, Wasmer enables server-side WebAssembly for multiple programming languages including C/C++, Java, Go, and Rust.
The role involves working on critical infrastructure to support WebAssembly applications, including containers, storage, networking, and orchestration. As a Rust Engineer, you'll maintain and architect next-generation infrastructure, work on both open-source and commercial products, and serve as a domain expert in Rust and WebAssembly.
The ideal candidate brings strong Rust or C/C++ development skills, experience with WebAssembly, WASI, and Emscripten, and expertise in POSIX, sockets, and memory management. You'll work directly with product management to align engineering efforts with product vision while contributing to the open-source community.
Wasmer offers a competitive package including stock options, flexible remote work, and various stipends for fitness and open-source contributions. Founded in 2019 and based in San Francisco, Wasmer is committed to making software universally available through WebAssembly, working closely with the open-source community to establish WebAssembly as a universal standard.
This role offers an opportunity to shape the future of cloud computing while working with cutting-edge technology in a startup environment that prioritizes open-source community contribution. The position requires strong technical skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work with large codebases while maintaining high standards of code quality and testing.
