Description For Backend Software Engineer

Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is a corporate wellness platform that connects employees to the best partners for fitness, mindfulness, therapy, nutrition, and sleep, all included in one subscription. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in NYC, we have a growing global team in 11 countries. We are hiring a Backend Software Engineer for our Access team in Brazil!

The Access Team is responsible for ensuring access to our clients' employees and their families. Our flow plays a crucial role in Wellhub's growth, and we are constantly working on new solutions to offer an intuitive and simple experience for verifying eligibility and signing up members. The signup flow occurs mainly in the web environment, and our team of developers is distributed in two stacks: back-end and front-end.

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will:

  • Help define the architecture of systems and integrations
  • Bring innovation to the table and ensure design docs are up to date
  • Ensure successful deliveries and promote long-term technical health of our journeys
  • Maintain high code quality standards
  • Spread development best practices such as code reviews, pair programming, and TDD
  • Build reusable code for future use
  • Participate in incident resolution and troubleshooting in production
  • Live the mission by inspiring and empowering others through genuine care for wellbeing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience designing and developing complex modern web applications
  • Experience with at least two programming languages such as Kotlin, Java, Golang, or Scala
  • Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems
  • Experience in developing RESTful web services
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers
  • Familiarity with MVP, A/B testing, and feature toggles
  • Strong computer science fundamentals
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and KPIs tracking
  • Experience with Cloud-based architectures in AWS
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in English

  • Well developed communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in English
