Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for their GenAI team in Portugal. This role focuses on generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LLMs fine-tuning, and API integrations. The ideal candidate will work on developing generative AI applications, implementing RAG systems, and creating APIs for AI models. Key responsibilities include designing AI-powered solutions, optimizing RAG frameworks, ensuring seamless integration with other systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role requires strong programming skills, experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies, and API development. Preferred qualifications include a PhD, experience with large language models, and knowledge of cloud platforms. Responsibilities For Lead Software Engineer
- Design, develop, and implement generative AI based applications
- Work with large language models (LLMs) to create innovative solutions
- Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
- Design and develop APIs for AI models and services
- Ensure seamless integration of AI applications with other software systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements For Lead Software Engineer
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
- Strong skills in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, C or C++
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies
- Experience with API development and integration
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills in English and Portuguese
- Ability to work on high scalable and distributed projects
- Fast learner, adapting to new technologies quickly
- Experience building reliable minimum viable products and pilots
