Lead Software Engineer

Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Tagus | BASE Team in Portugal. As part of this team, you'll be at the heart of Wellhub's business model, building a scalable platform to support millions of users, clients, and partners worldwide. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing high-performance, scalable services, integrating systems, and working with cutting-edge technologies. You'll be part of a collaborative, agile environment focused on productivity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, deploy, and improve services for performance, scalability, and resilience • Build integration among services and tools • Support and enhance existing systems to meet product demands • Work in a collaborative, agile environment prioritizing people and productivity • Utilize cutting-edge technologies for global-scale solutions

Requirements: • Extensive experience in architecting large-scale multi-tier web applications • Proficiency in programming languages like Go, Java, Kotlin, Scala, or Python (Go expertise is a plus) • Experience with cloud-based architectures, particularly AWS and GCP • Strong background in developing RESTful web services • Expertise in SQL/NoSQL technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB) • Excellent communication skills for working with diverse, international teams • Advanced English skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
