Senior Backend Software Engineer

The Data Platform Team is responsible for building and maintaining system components that empower data engineers and analysts. Using AWS cloud infrastructure and various software solutions, the team ensures data solutions are self-service, cost-effective, and secure. Team members come from diverse technical backgrounds and are committed to cross-training and mastering all relevant activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advocating for improvements in software quality, security, and performance
• Embracing the DataOps mindset to streamline and optimize repetitive tasks
• Collaborating with Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts to drive efficiencies
• Providing tooling to improve the product development process and prevent failures
• Ensuring effective knowledge sharing through documentation and personal interaction

The ideal candidate should have:

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• Experience with Python, Java, or similar languages (Python and Java preferred)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Familiarity with Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies
• Understanding of distributed systems, data-intensive applications, and analytical data warehouses
• Genuine interest in big data applications and technology trends
