Senior Backend Software Engineer

Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their CODE (Consumer Digital Experience) Focus Area, specifically the Retention squad in Portugal. This role is part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining Wellhub's App, frontend, and backend services, and Design System. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience working with Node.js, Java, Golang, or Kotlin, and a strong background in microservices and distributed systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working within an agile full-stack engineering team
• Defining system architecture and integrations
• Supporting and enhancing existing systems
• Participating in incident resolution and troubleshooting
• Mentoring other developers
• Working with cutting-edge technologies at a global scale
• Following up on engineering and product KPIs

The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Golang, Kotlin, Node.js)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis)
• Solid knowledge of event-driven architectures and serverless computing
• Strong communication skills for working with multidisciplinary, multicultural teams
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency
