Staff Backend Software Engineer

Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is seeking a Staff Backend Software Engineer for their GenAI team in Portugal. This role focuses on generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LLMs fine-tuning, and API integrations. The ideal candidate will design and develop generative AI applications, work with large language models, implement RAG systems, and ensure seamless integration with various software systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing generative AI applications and working with LLMs
• Implementing and optimizing RAG systems
• Designing secure and scalable APIs
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Driving critical projects from architectural design to implementation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong experience in programming languages like Python, Go, Java, C or C++
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies
• API development and integration experience
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work on high scalable and distributed projects
• Fast learner adaptable to new technologies
• Strong communication skills in English and Portuguese
