Tech Lead Backend Engineer

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in NYC, we have a growing global team in 11 countries. We're hiring a Tech Lead Backend Engineer for our Billing team in Brazil. In this role, you'll be responsible for the platform that serves the entire Wellhub business, processing millions of transactions for users and companies globally. You'll research, architect, plan, and execute strategic projects with an A-Players software engineering team. Your work will influence B2B and B2C checkout conversion worldwide by creating new calculation mechanisms and improving existing ones. You'll work on loosely defined project scopes, elaborating strategies to deliver solutions that balance features and time to market. This role offers opportunities to develop leadership skills by nurturing and coaching less senior engineers, as well as to enhance your engineering skills by solving scalability problems and designing system architectures. We're looking for an experienced backend engineer skilled in architecting large-scale multi-tier web applications with high availability and scalability. You should have experience with microservices, high-volume distributed systems, and programming languages like Java or Kotlin with Spring. Knowledge of event-driven and cloud-based architectures (AWS and GCP) is essential.
