Tech Lead Software Engineer | Billing Team

Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is seeking a Tech Lead Software Engineer for their Billing team in Portugal. This role is part of the platform that serves the entire Wellhub business, processing millions of transactions for users and companies globally.

As a Tech Lead, you will:

• Research, architect, plan, and execute strategic projects with an A-Players software engineering team
• Influence B2B and B2C checkout conversion globally
• Work on loosely defined project scopes, balancing features and time to market
• Nurture and coach less senior engineers
• Solve scalability problems and design system architecture

The ideal candidate has:

• Experience in architecting large-scale multi-tier web applications
• Expertise in microservices and high-volume distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin with Spring
• Experience with event-driven and cloud-based architectures (AWS and GCP)
• Strong background in SQL/NoSQL technologies
• Exceptional communication skills
