Description For Lead Security Engineer

Welltech, a global leader in the Health & Fitness industry, is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to spearhead their security initiatives. With over 200 million app installs and a team of 800+ professionals across 5 hubs, Welltech is making significant impacts in global health and wellness through their suite of five innovative applications.

The role demands a seasoned security professional with at least 5 years of experience to lead a team of three security engineers. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies, managing risk assessment, and driving the transition to in-house security capabilities. Key responsibilities include establishing incident response protocols, ensuring PCI DSS compliance, and partnering with the Privacy team on data security initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in AWS security frameworks, proficiency with tools like Datadog and PagerDuty, and experience with regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR and ISO 27001. Leadership experience of 2+ years is essential, along with demonstrated success in managing large-scale security projects.

Responsibilities For Lead Security Engineer

  • Directly manage and mentor a team of three security engineers
  • Design and implement mid and long-term security strategies
  • Identify, assess, and manage security risks
  • Lead the transition from managed detection and response services to in-house capability
  • Establish and manage on-call incident response protocol
  • Partner with Privacy team to establish data security practices
  • Provide expertise for PCI DSS certification

Requirements For Lead Security Engineer

  • Minimum 5 years in Security Engineering roles
  • 2+ years experience leading security engineers
  • Experience leading large scale security projects
  • Proven track record in implementing data security initiatives
  • Hands-on incident response experience
  • Experience with GDPR, PCI-DSS, or ISO 27001
  • Strong coding skills with security focus
  • Proficiency in Datadog and PagerDuty
  • Deep understanding of AWS security frameworks
  • Strong communication skills
