Fullstack Engineer, Community

Whatnot, the leading livestream shopping platform in North America and Europe, is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to join their Community team. As a remote co-located team with hubs across the US, UK, Ireland, Poland, and Germany, we're revolutionizing e-commerce by combining community, shopping, and entertainment.

The role focuses on building social features that create lasting connections between sellers and buyers, which is crucial for retention and GMV growth. You'll work on the Live Experience platform where real-time interactions happen through purchasing, chat, and giveaways, as well as innovative products like the Rewards Club.

As a fullstack engineer, you'll be responsible for developing strategic products, scaling existing systems, and prototyping new ideas. The position requires expertise in both frontend and backend technologies, with experience in Python, Elixir, Next.js, and PostgreSQL being particularly valuable. You'll be creating dynamic, real-time products that incorporate live video and interactive components.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of software engineering experience in high-growth startups, demonstrates strong product instinct, and excels at translating user needs into technical solutions. You should thrive in ambiguous environments, show proactive leadership in improving team culture, and maintain an ownership mindset throughout the product lifecycle.
