Description For Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Whatnot, valued at $3.7 billion, is revolutionizing e-commerce as the largest livestream shopping platform in the U.S. Backed by prestigious investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, and CapitalG, we're building a unique marketplace that combines community, shopping, and entertainment. As a remote-first company with hubs across the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, and Germany, we're experiencing remarkable growth as the fastest-growing marketplace in the US over the past two years.

We're seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in maintaining our platform's scalability and reliability, especially during high-volume events where traffic can spike 20x. You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), while maintaining our CI/CD pipeline to ensure rapid and safe software deployment.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience and a track record of building systems that support millions of users. We value individuals with a growth mindset, low ego, and a drive for high impact. Our tech stack includes Python, Elixir, and JavaScript, though prior experience with these specific languages isn't mandatory.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including flexible time off, generous health coverage, substantial work-from-home support, and family-friendly policies. The position offers competitive compensation ($185,000-$245,000) plus equity, reflecting our commitment to attracting top talent. Join us in shaping the future of social commerce while working with a team that values innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
