Senior Software Engineer (Backend, Growth)

As a Senior Software Engineer joining WHOOP's Growth team, you will be responsible for developing the e-commerce platform, creating features that help grow the business and provide a delightful experience for members. This role requires strong knowledge of backend architecture and API design, as the team makes data-driven decisions that can directly impact revenue.

You'll be working on building and scaling services for WHOOP's membership and accessories offerings, contributing to backend development using Java, AWS, and Postgres. You'll interface with e-commerce platforms like CommerceTools and Stripe, and work collaboratively in a business growth environment. The role involves consistently delivering features and code with an iterative approach, facilitating ad hoc experiments to promote growth, and supporting other engineers through mentorship.

Ideal candidates should have experience with large-scale software systems, API design and development (preferably in Java), relational database design (SQL), and headless content management systems. Experience with experimentation, data-driven development, and the e-commerce domain is highly valued. A positive attitude, ownership mentality, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

This position is based in WHOOP's Boston, MA office, and the successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary.
