As a Composite Design Engineer, you'll join the Structures Interior IPT team, playing a crucial role in shaping the aircraft's structural configuration. This hybrid position, based in Mountain View, requires onsite presence 3 days per week. You'll be responsible for composite design in autonomous Urban Air Mobility (UAM) aircraft development, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive technical decisions and ensure successful integration of systems and structures. Responsibilities For Composite Design Engineer

  • Act as a Composite Designer for novel aircraft development targeting autonomous UAM market
  • Support The Manager / Lead of IPT work pack for Aircraft Structure and Systems Installation design
  • Work with Supporting Engineering IPT WPs to resolve cross WP integration issues
  • Prepare, provide, and present progress reports with action plans to Integrated Product Team reviews

Requirements For Composite Design Engineer

  • University Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
  • Must be a composite laminate designer
  • Must be knowledgeable in Fibre sim
  • Must have knowledge of metallic design
  • Good understanding of systems/structures definition, integration, safety and certification processes
  • May require some level of travel
