As a Senior Software Engineer in the Multi-Vehicle Supervision team within the Autonomy & Airspace Integration department, you'll play a crucial role in developing embedded software that enables one-to-many supervision of autonomous aircraft. This hybrid position, based at the Mountain View HQ, offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking aviation technology.

The role involves leading embedded software development for autonomous aircraft supervision, implementing safety-critical systems, and working with cutting-edge technology in the urban air mobility sector. Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer

  • Lead Embedded Software development for one-to-many supervision of autonomous aircraft
  • Participate and lead in design and implementation of safety-critical and non-safety-critical systems
  • Support Systems Engineering in defining and documenting technical solutions
  • Help define software architecture, physical architecture, and integration plans
  • Participate in software requirements development process
  • Develop and integrate software for real-time embedded systems
  • Help coordinate integration and testing efforts
  • Take part in Agile Development processes and cross-functional design reviews
  • Mentor other team members
  • Work closely with Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Suppliers

Requirements For Senior Software Engineer

Linux
Python
  • BS in CS, AE, ME, EE, or equivalent, with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Expert proficiency in C/C++
  • Experience with safety critical systems (DO-178B/C, ISO-26262)
  • Proficient using VSCode, Docker, Linux
  • Proficient in Python and shell scripting languages
  • Experience in Intel/ARM development
  • Experience utilizing an RTOS, preferably an ARINC 653 RTOS
  • Experience developing software for real-time embedded systems
  • Ability to read schematics and perform basic hardware debugging
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts
  • Hands-on experience taking software from ideation to release
  • Strong knowledge of complex embedded software application design
  • Strong understanding of agile development process
