As a Senior Systems Safety Engineer, you'll join a passionate team working on the cutting-edge of aviation technology, specifically within the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) engineering department.
The role involves ensuring the safety of aircraft operations in an urban air-mobility environment. You'll be responsible for developing comprehensive safety assessment processes, working with airworthiness authorities, and implementing critical safety strategies. This position reports to the Supervisor of Safety and Reliability Engineering and carries broad responsibility for analyzing all safety aspects of aircraft design.
Working in a hybrid model, you'll be required to be onsite at either the California or Montreal office 2-3 days per week, offering flexibility for remote work on other days. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $64 to $75 per hour, reflecting the high-level expertise required for this specialized role.
Key responsibilities include developing System Safety Plans, managing safety assessment processes, and ensuring compliance with aviation safety regulations. You'll work closely with engineering teams to monitor design changes, define safety targets, and develop mitigation strategies.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of systems safety engineering experience (or 3 with a Master's degree), strong leadership capabilities, and deep knowledge of aviation safety standards and regulations. Experience with reliability analysis tools and FAA certification processes is crucial.
