Mechanical Engineer

Withings is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Shenzhen, China. The role involves improving mechanical design, design-to-cost, and design for manufacturing of company products. Key responsibilities include:

• Analyzing and improving mechanical design of products in coordination with the Product Development Team in Paris
• Designing components, packaging, accessories, and/or products using CAD, DFM, GD&T, and product management tools
• Leading technical discussions with suppliers and acting as an interface between suppliers and the product development team in France
• Anticipating, managing, and solving manufacturing, assembly, and quality problems on production lines and with component manufacturers
• Assisting in setting up and ramping up production lines during NPI stages
• Analyzing production line data to optimize mass production efficiency and cost
• Designing production line jigs and tools for product assembly, testing, and validation

The ideal candidate should have:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Experience with consumer electronics and/or packaging mechanical design, assembly, and validation
• Experience in manufacturing processes and plastic injection
• Proficiency in CAD software and Office Pack
• Strong problem-solving skills and an autonomous mindset
• Fluency in English (written & spoken)
• Fluency in Chinese Mandarin is a strong plus, and fluency in French is a plus
