Description For Data Engineer

Writer is seeking their first Data Engineer to join the team. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the architecture and tools powering data analytics and reporting capabilities. The ideal candidate will be at the intersection of engineering, product, and data, leading the integration of product, financial, and business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own, build, and maintain data pipelines, ETL/reverse-ETL processes, and BigQuery environment
  • Implement orchestration tools and design tests for data quality
  • Develop reliable data models optimized for scale
  • Document data pipelines and establish data governance
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams
  • Establish data engineering best practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, preferably in SaaS
  • Expert in SQL, dbt, and Python
  • Advanced knowledge of data engineering tools and cloud environments
  • Strong focus on data quality, integrity, and security
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and create structured solutions

Tech Stack:

  • Core: BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran, Hightouch, Segment, Amplitude, Omni
  • Periphery: Salesforce, Hubspot, Gong, Vitally
