This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the company's data analytics and reporting capabilities. As the first Data Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of engineering, product, and data, leading the integration of product, financial, and business systems.

Key responsibilities include owning and maintaining data pipelines, implementing data quality measures, developing data models, and establishing best practices. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, expertise in SQL, dbt, and Python, and knowledge of cloud environments.

Responsibilities For Data engineer

  • Own, build, and maintain data pipelines, ETL/reverse-ETL processes and BigQuery environment
  • Implement an orchestration tool
  • Design a suite of tests and validations to ensure data consistency, accuracy and integrity
  • Develop reliable and lasting data models, while optimizing for scale
  • Catalog and document all aspects of our data pipelines
  • Create the foundation for a data governance program
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to deliver data solutions
  • Establish data engineering best practices

Requirements For Data engineer

Python
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a data engineering role, ideally in a SaaS environment
  • Expert in SQL, dbt and Python
  • Advanced knowledge of data engineering tools, frameworks and languages (eg. Airflow, Airbyte, Kafka, github workflows)
  • Experience working with services in cloud environment (eg. AWS or GCP)
  • Care deeply about data quality, integrity and security
  • Thrive in ambiguity and can create paved roads from dirt paths
