As a Software Tool Engineer 2, you will be responsible for the automation of requirements management, change management, requirements gathering/tracking, and configuration management throughout a project's lifecycle. You'll work with teams to identify, engineer, and implement optimum automated solutions following approved processes. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining technical documentation, providing consulting and training, integrating software productivity tools, and supporting the installation and configuration of software tools. The role requires expertise in various areas such as IBM/Rational Tools and HP Service Manager. This position demands a TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph due to federal contract requirements. Responsibilities For Software Tool Engineer 2

  • Develop, tailor and maintain associated technical documentation for software productivity tools
  • Provide consulting, training and hands-on expertise to project personnel in the use of software tools
  • Integrate software productivity tools to implement existing and proposed project processes
  • Perform regular backup of software productivity tools databases, datasets and files
  • Monitor, track, and manage software productivity tools, licenses, and associated media
  • Provide support for the installation, integration, development, customization and configuration of software productivity tools
  • Participate in the research, analysis and recommendation of software productivity tools
  • Develop and maintain software productivity tools installation, integration, development and configuration plans

Requirements For Software Tool Engineer 2

Linux
  • TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
  • Fourteen (14) years combined experience as a software engineer, system engineer, system administrator or configuration management engineer
  • Eight (8) years experience as a Tools Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited institution
  • Labor Category must be in compliance with certification requirements detailed in DoD8570-M, IAT level 1
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Load Balancing (F5/DTC)
  • Familiar with outages, latency issues, & trouble shooting
  • Proven experience designing and implementing DDI solutions
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including IPv4 and IPv6
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
