Xayn AG, an innovative AI startup born from research at Oxford University and Imperial College London, is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their team developing Noxtua, Europe's first sovereign Legal AI solution. The company, founded in 2017, has secured €19.5M in funding and maintains a strong academic focus with 30% PhDs in their workforce.
As a Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in developing privacy-first Legal AI solutions, working with cutting-edge technologies including Rust and Python. You'll join a technical team of around 10 individuals, either working remotely or from the Berlin office, focusing on building scalable, high-performance backend services and implementing AI-driven features.
The role involves close collaboration with AI researchers and engineers, working on core APIs, managing tenant services, and integrating AI libraries. You'll be using a modern tech stack including AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Redis, while following best practices in security and scalability.
The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in Rust and Python, with at least 2 years of Rust experience, and expertise in backend development including database integration and security practices.
