Lead Engineer - SRE (Operational Health & Engineering Insights)

Xero is seeking a Lead Engineer for their Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, specifically within the Engineering Health team. This role combines software and systems engineering to enable engineers across Xero to build and support products that are observable, stable, performant, and tolerant to failure. The ideal candidate will be a key contributor in influencing Xero to provide the most reliable experience for customers.

As a Lead Engineer, you'll take technical ownership of your area, contribute expertise to align team deliverables with wider SRE and Xero initiatives, and solve cross-organisation engineering challenges. You'll need strong communication skills, business acumen, and stakeholder management capabilities. The role requires a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in modern continuous delivery principles and a broad skill set.
