Lead Software Engineer

Xometry, a NASDAQ-listed company (XMTR), is seeking an experienced Staff-level Backend Engineer with strong Python coding expertise to join their software engineering organization. This role is part of a skilled, collaborative team focused on evolving Xometry's instant-quote product and the technology platform behind it. The ideal candidate should be passionate about being part of a small, intensely skilled team, feel total ownership of their work, and have a constant desire to learn and code.

As a Lead Software Engineer at Xometry, you will play a crucial role in the company's platform, where everything you do will have a significant impact. This position is offered as a 1-year contract and is remote-friendly, with a focus on candidates in the Greater São Paulo Area.

Key responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, and releasing software; working with various technologies such as HTML, TypeScript/JavaScript/React, Python, and Rust; collaborating closely with other engineers and product managers; and taking operational responsibility for team-owned services, including deploying to AWS and Kubernetes environments.

The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced technical environment, strong English communication skills, and a deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals. Knowledge of web technologies, experience with at least two of Python, Rust, and React, and familiarity with software engineering principles related to security, scalability, and asynchronous programming are required.
