Description For Quality Assurance Engineer

Xometry (NASDAQ: XMTR) is a fast-growing digital technology company disrupting the manufacturing industry by connecting innovative ideas with manufacturers. We're seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support our rapid customer growth in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, using their passion, technical experience, and problem-solving skills to improve mechanical solutions from concept to full production. You'll interact with various teams, including DFM Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Case Management, and our Supply Chain Network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading quality-centric activities virtually and onsite
  • Working cross-functionally to reduce supplier nonconformities
  • Managing internal, customer, and certification audits
  • Overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS) library
  • Aiding in customer surveys and managing internal corrective actions
  • Serving as an onsite quality expert to ensure quick turnaround time

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in a quality role
  • 2+ years in a customer/supplier facing role
  • Strong Quality Assurance / Supplier Development experience
  • Effective communication and facilitation skills
  • Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and DFM/DFQ
  • Understanding of GD&T and tooling
  • ISO 9001 and Internal audits experience
  • 5%-10% travel requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certification
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Looker, Salesforce
  • Knowledge of Process Certification/Process Robustness
  • AS9100, ISO 13485, or IATF 16949 auditing certifications

  • Full understanding of GD&T and tooling
  • Mechanical/Manufacturing processing knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/specifications
  • Big Data development and trend analysis experience
  • ISO 9001 and Internal audits experience
