Staff Software Engineer

Xometry (NASDAQ: XMTR) is seeking an experienced Staff-level Backend Engineer with strong Python or Rust coding expertise to join their software engineering organization. As part of a skilled, collaborative team, you'll evolve their instant-quote product and the technology platform behind it. This role is ideal for someone who wants to be part of a small, intensely skilled team, feels total ownership of their work, and can't imagine a day without learning & coding. You'll play a crucial role in the Xometry platform, where everything you do will matter.

Responsibilities:

• Design, code, test, and release software
• Read, write, and review code in HTML, Typescript/Javascript/React, Python, and Rust
• Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers in an autonomous, cross-functional team
• Take operational responsibility for team-owned services, including deploying to AWS and Kubernetes environments
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Work in an environment supporting individual growth

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as a software developer in a fast-paced technical environment
• Strong English speaking and writing skills
• Demonstrable understanding of software engineering fundamentals
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and DOM web programming
• Expertise in at least two of Python, Rust, and React
• Experience with software engineering principles related to security, scalability, asynchronous programming, and transactions
• Attention to detail, good work ethic, ability to multitask, and strong communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Git/Github actions, GitLab
• Knowledge of service-oriented architectures
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
