Google Legal is seeking an Associate Contracts Manager to join their Music and YouTube team in the APAC region. This role focuses on music licensing, policy development, and content distribution for Google products, particularly YouTube and YouTube Music. The position involves managing music-related templates and agreements, supporting regional marketing initiatives, and handling commercial deals and legal matters. Working at the intersection of law and technology, you'll collaborate with Marketing, Business Development, and Business Affairs teams across Google. The role requires strong contract management skills, understanding of copyright law, and the ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail. As part of Google Legal, you'll help address complex legal challenges in the information age while contributing to innovative approaches for Google's global products. Responsibilities For Associate Contracts Manager, Music and YouTube
- Review, draft and manage music licensing agreements, statements of work, and other intellectual property agreements
- Manage agreements to comply with company policies and risk tolerance
- Respond promptly to legal requests from Marketing, Business Development, Business Affairs and other clients
- Advise business clients on legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures
- Manage and improve current team processes and develop new processes for increased efficiency
Requirements For Associate Contracts Manager, Music and YouTube
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 4 years of experience working with commercial contracts in a non-attorney role
- Ability to communicate in English fluently
- Understanding of copyright law and rights associated with sound recordings and musical compositions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate fluently and review contracts in a local Asian language (preferred)
