Google's Data Support Engineers innovate and develop software-based solutions for business problems. As a Data Support Engineer on the YouTube Business Technology team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining solutions that streamline data access, enhance data hygiene, and improve telemetry for YouTube's support teams. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the support organization, enabling them to better serve users. You will be part of an engineering team focused on building tools, creating proof-of-concept prototypes, and generating/reviewing technical design documents to address the data needs of support teams.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy data integration that empower support teams to address user needs.
- Translate support requirements into technical specifications for data-driven tools, and dashboards ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data to improve support workflows, optimize response times, and enhance the overall user experience.
- Provide technical guidance support to other engineers on data integration to power anchor systems, and reports related to support operations.
- Analyze, review, and modify programs to increase operating efficiency or meet new requirements as well as execute testing, debugging, maintenance or program updates.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience reading code in a general purpose coding language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go or JavaScript, etc.) or in system design.
- 4 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customers' needs, and triaging technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process).
- 4 years of experience with 2 or more of the following: Web Tech, Data/Big Data, Systems Admin, Machine Learning, Networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, SAP.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Experience with unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and with workflow orchestration tools.
- Experience working with systems for collaborative code reviews, version control, continuous integration, and automated testing and support engineering.
- Experience with data governance and data quality best practices, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
