YouTube Metadata Service (YTMS) is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their high-QPS metadata serving platform that powers all of YouTube's products. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring 8+ years of infrastructure experience and proven leadership capabilities. You'll manage a critical team responsible for YouTube's core infrastructure, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Manage a team of Software Engineers responsible for YouTube Metadata Services (YTMS)
  • Support team in their growth, success, and delivery against team and Product Area (PA) priorities
  • Develop knowledge of the team's systems, dependencies, customers, and partners
  • Influence and shape roadmaps, infrastructure and strategies across the company
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Build technology stack on Boq, Scaffolding, C++, Spanner, RDMA, CliqueMap, UDCS-MV

Requirements For Engineering Manager, YouTube Metadata Services

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks
  • 4 years of experience coding with a general purpose programming language (i.e. Java, C/C++, Python)
