This role is part of a newly formed mobile Security Team for YouTube native apps, dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of security across their suite of 14 Android and iOS applications.
The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $197,000 to $291,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Based in San Bruno, CA, you'll be at the heart of YouTube's security operations, working to protect billions of users worldwide.
As a Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for performing Android security reviews, researching vulnerabilities, and designing secure protocols and systems. The role requires a strong background in security assessments, with 8 years of experience in security design reviews or threat modeling, and equivalent experience in general-purpose programming languages.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Mobile App Development, particularly with Android Apps, and be well-versed in implementing sand-boxing infrastructure and building static analysis tools. Your expertise in programming languages, compilers, and both static and dynamic analysis techniques will be crucial in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities.
Working closely with Google Information Security Engineering under a federated security team model, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on user safety across YouTube's entire mobile app ecosystem, including YouTube Main, Creator Studio, Kids, YTTV, Producer, and their Embeds SDK.
