Description For Product Manager, YouTube Self-Serve Commerce Platform Tools

At YouTube, a dynamic environment where innovation meets creativity, we're seeking a Product Manager to lead our Self-Serve Commerce Platform Tools team. This role is crucial in establishing and driving success for a new team focused on building commerce platform tooling in collaboration with Engineering Leads and cross-functional teams in San Bruno.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work at Google, where user-first thinking drives everything we do. As a Product Manager, you'll be at the intersection of technical and business domains, guiding products from conception to launch. You'll work with world-class engineers, designers, and marketers to develop technologies that improve access to global information.

The role requires a strong background in product management with at least 5 years of experience, and a deep understanding of commerce-related products, particularly platform APIs and tooling. You'll be responsible for establishing team norms, executing product strategy, and managing cross-functional relationships. Your expertise in SQL, data modeling, and product internationalization will be valuable assets.

Responsibilities For Product Manager, YouTube Self-Serve Commerce Platform Tools

  • Establish team norms and culture, serve as the key point of contact to the global team
  • Execute on the Tooling product outlook and strategy
  • Define, own, and align teams on product roadmaps that operationalize a defined strategy
  • Own Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and launches
  • Manage and consistently communicate qualitative and quantitative status and product insights

Requirements For Product Manager, YouTube Self-Serve Commerce Platform Tools

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in product management
  • Experience developing internet products and technologies
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders
  • Experience with commerce-related products focusing on platform APIs and tooling
  • Experience with product internationalization
  • Proficiency with SQL and data modeling
  • Ability to be clear, organized, with problem solving and communication skills
