Software Engineer, Mobile (Android), GenAI, YouTube

In this role, you will work on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that help creators express themselves on YouTube. You will remove creative roadblocks and unlock new ways to tell stories, while ensuring creator autonomy and flexibility. You will be responsible for defining the future of creation with generative AI, working with cutting-edge technical developments across all modalities (vision, audio, language) and innovative product teams building rapidly growing products like YouTube Shorts, YouTube Create, Stories, and Posts.

You will work on foundational elements of product inclusion, lowering technical and financial barriers to creating professional-looking content by developing post-capture technologies that enable high-quality content production on low-end devices. This role involves collaborating with the Emerging Experiences and Community Team (EMCO) to empower both viewers and creators to engage more deeply with one another, building and fostering communities.

The position requires expertise in Android application development, proficiency in Java or Kotlin, and a strong background in data structures and algorithms. You'll be working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, moving at the speed of culture with the shared goal of showing people the world through YouTube's platform.
