As a TPM III, you'll be responsible for developing and evaluating capacity plans, collaborating with engineering teams, and maintaining YouTube's infrastructure footprint. The role requires strong technical aptitude, particularly in data center infrastructure and resource planning, combined with excellent project management skills.
Key responsibilities include analyzing usage trends, partnering with engineers for resource estimation, providing 18-month forecasts for supply-chain teams, and identifying efficiency opportunities. You'll also work on building and improving tooling to scale the planning process and manage resource requests for new launches and system migrations.
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of program management experience, particularly in managing cross-functional projects. Technical skills, including familiarity with Python and SQL, are highly valued. You'll need to be equally comfortable discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers and presenting recommendations to executives.
