Zeal Group, an award-winning FinTech organization founded in 2017, is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to join their team of 700+ employees across the globe. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and management of the company's data warehouse, collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements and continuously improve data architecture.
As the Lead Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring scalability, compliance with data privacy laws, and maintaining system reliability through automated testing and monitoring. You'll evaluate and implement new data tools and technologies, work on proactive monitoring and error detection, and provide valuable insights to cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data pipelines, ETL processes, big data frameworks, and infrastructure/DevOps practices. Strong skills in Python and SQL are required, along with expertise in data modeling, workflow management, and backend development. Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, is a plus.

Responsibilities For Lead Data Platform Engineer
- Lead and Own the Development and Management of the Data Warehouse
- Collaborate with stakeholders and company leaders on the data platform requirements
- Continuously improve data architecture for scalability and maintain compliance with data privacy laws and industry standards
- Ensure automated testing, monitoring, and alerting are integrated into CI/CD processes to maintain system reliability and minimize downtime
- Evaluate and Implement New Data Tools and Technologies
- Implement proactive monitoring and automated error detection, ensuring that data quality standards are maintained consistently across systems
- Work with cross-functional teams to provide data insights, reports, and infrastructure support for strategic initiatives or ad hoc analyses
Requirements For Lead Data Platform Engineer
- Experience in Data Pipelines, ETL, Data Quality, OLAP, Big data frameworks
- Experience in Infrastructure and DevOps, Cloud infrastructure, Terraform, k8s, Docker, Prometheus
- Experience in Data Modelling, Data warehouses, Workflow Managers
- Experience in Backend Development, API, Micro-services, OLTP storages, Stream processing
- Experience with Continuous Integration Tools (Gitlab Ci, Teamcity, Jenkins)
- Experience with Python, SQL
