Description For Lead Software Development Engineer - Backend

We've issued over 20M+ cards globally and work with major banks and fintechs across multiple markets.

As a Lead Software Development Engineer - Backend at Zeta, you'll be:

  • Building a highly-scalable and secure payments platform
  • Owning one or more platform components and driving innovation
  • Working with product teams to gather requirements and add capabilities
  • Collaborating with industry experts and having growth opportunities
  • Using cutting-edge cryptography to enhance payment security
  • Mining TBs of data for actionable insights
  • Building low-level infrastructure to optimize network performance
  • Participating in recruitment and nurturing fellow engineers

We're looking for someone who can:

  • Influence design, architecture, and standards for scalability and maintainability
  • Identify patterns and provide solutions to complex problems
  • Multitask and handle dependencies with minimal oversight
  • Have experience with large-scale Java applications
  • Understand distributed systems, scalability, and availability
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Focus on service latency and throughput
  • Understand concurrency, synchronization, NIO, memory allocation, and GC
  • Work with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Have experience with Message Brokers and Application Containers
  • Mentor and train team members
