Description For Data Engineer

Join Zip's Technology function as a Data Engineer in the Accounts squad, supporting work that directly interacts with our customers. You'll be part of a large scale transformation project, transitioning our LMS system at the core of Zip's business. Your work will impact the experience of more than 3.5 million customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain databases and platform integrations related to customer transactions
  • Work on "lift and shift" projects and ETL processes
  • Design and develop Scala/Python Spark applications
  • Utilize strong SQL and database skills, including RDBMS and NoSQL databases
  • Work with AWS services (S3, EC2, IAM, EKS, etc.)
  • Collaborate with various business users

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience using Spark and Python
  • Solid background in ETL
  • Experience with Snowflake, Postgres, DynamoDB, SQL Server, SparkSQL
  • Practical experience with AWS services
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work fluidly and take on new challenges
