Senior / Staff Software Engineer (Core Storage)

Zip is a fast-growing startup that created the procurement orchestration category, providing a simple, consumer-grade user experience for managing business spend. As a Senior / Staff Software Engineer (Core Storage) at Zip, you'll be part of the Infra team, primarily working on Ent and TAO, Zip's proprietary database access layer inspired by Facebook's Ent and TAO. Your role will involve evolving Zip's data access layer for sharded and distributed databases, improving database scalability, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency, and supporting the company's global expansion. You'll collaborate with product engineering teams to design new features for Ent and TAO and enhance the underlying database to support the company's growth. This role requires over 5 years of software engineering experience, particularly in cloud infrastructure, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and proven experience in designing and implementing data access layers. The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $220,000, with additional benefits including startup equity, full health coverage, catered meals, flexible PTO, and more.
