Description For Autonomy Systems Test Engineer

Zoox is at the forefront of developing autonomous vehicles with some of the most complex software systems in safety-critical environments. As an Autonomy Systems Test Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our autonomous driving software.

The position involves creating and implementing comprehensive test strategies for self-driving behavior features. You'll work with cutting-edge simulation frameworks to design and execute various test scenarios, validate end-to-end behaviors, and develop standardized test design tooling processes. Your work will be essential in identifying potential failure modes and implementation bugs during both offline and on-vehicle testing.

You'll have the unique opportunity to participate in real-world vehicle testing missions, where you'll observe new features in action. Following these missions, you'll be responsible for triaging and root-causing issues, analyzing test results to prevent regressions, and continuously improving our QA processes to match Zoox's growing needs.

The role offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $125,000 to $175,000, Amazon RSUs, and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. You'll be working in a hybrid setting in the San Francisco Bay Area, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve some of the most exciting technical challenges in autonomous vehicle development.

The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of experience in software systems testing, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in automated testing frameworks. Your expertise in Python, Linux, and various development tools will be crucial in creating and maintaining robust testing methodologies for our AI stack.
