Description For Senior Dimensional Engineer
Zoox is seeking a Senior Dimensional Engineer to join their Vehicle Development – Vehicle Integration Engineering team. This role requires a dynamic, analytical, and innovative individual with extensive experience in product design and dimensional engineering. As a dimensional engineer, you will lead in the execution of complete vehicle design for manufacture and assembly across engineering disciplines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading 2D engineering drawing checking for complex designs
- Improving GD&T processes, procedures, and data sheets
- Conducting failure analysis and root-cause investigations
- Training and mentoring in ASME Y14.5 GD&T
- Collaborating with design engineers on GD&T symbols and improvements
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in dimensional/quality engineering
- Knowledge of CMM/Faro Arm, Leica programming using PC-DMIS/Polyworks
- Experience in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stacks
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 standard (2009/2018)
- Experience with various metrology equipment
Bonus qualifications include experience in product design, ASME and ISO GD&T, Fixture, and Metrology, as well as working with suppliers to improve manufacturing and measurement processes.

Responsibilities For Senior Dimensional Engineer
- Lead 2D engineering drawing checking for complex designs
- Continuously improve GD&T processes, procedures, and data sheets for a variety of parts with different materials and manufacturing methods
- Lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations of defective materials, utilizing expertise in ASME Y14.5 standards
- Train and mentor in ASME Y14.5 GD&T
- Work closely with design engineers to review and propose GD&T symbols, making recommendations for measurability and manufacturability improvements
Requirements For Senior Dimensional Engineer
- At least 10 years of experience in dimensional/quality engineering
- Knowledge of CMM/Faro Arm, Leica programming using PC-DMIS/Polyworks
- Experience in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stacks
- Experience with ASME Y14.5 standard (2009/2018)
- Experience using various metrology equipment, including CMM, OMM, Faro Arm, Leica, caliper, pin gauge, etc.
