Responsibilities For Senior / Staff Failure Analysis Engineer
- Conduct thorough and detailed failure analysis investigations across all systems, modules, and components of our vehicle
- Build and maintain relationships with engineering departments to understand failure analysis requirements
- Manage failure analysis processes for reliability tests, product development, and robots in use
- Design, guide, and co-create testing methods and procedures for new and existing technologies
- Organize, manage, and carry out tests to aid in achieving critical milestones for vehicle projects
- Implement protocols to establish standard operating procedures and best practices
- Establish failure modes and effects analysis process to systemize investigations
Requirements For Senior / Staff Failure Analysis Engineer
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field
- Comprehensive understanding of stress, strain, cracking, fatigue, and associated failure modes
- 10+ years of cumulative experience in the field of testing and validation
- Experience using 3D CAD software collaboratively (Catia, 3DX)
- Proven ability to manage projects, particularly in facilitating vehicle launches
- Proficiency in handling diverse engineering materials (metals, polymers, composites, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of material mechanics principles and metallurgical fundamentals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic with commitment to accuracy
- Hands-on experience with spectroscopy techniques (SEM/EDS, ESCA, XRF, Raman, FTIR, DB FIB, etc.)
- Experience with optical/digital microscopy, fractography, sample mounting, sample preparation
- Working knowledge of industry standards (ASTM, ISO, DIN, etc.)
- First hand experience sourcing, bring up, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
